NHS Treatment

In addition to treating patients opting to self-finance their hospital treatment and those with medical insurance, Sancta Maria Hospital now treats a number of patients eligible to receive their treatment via the National Health Service.

Who is eligible for NHS funded treatment at Sancta Maria Hospital?

If your NHS hospital cannot treat you within a prescribed length of time, you may be offered the choice of receiving your treatment at the Sancta Maria Hospital.

How would I be contacted?

If you were found to be eligible to receive your treatment at Sancta Maria Hospital you would be contacted by telephone or by letter, by the NHS, and given full instructions.

Which consultant would treat me?

In some cases it may be possible to be treated by the same consultant you were previously under in the NHS. If this is not possible, then you would be referred to another consultant with a comparable level of knowledge and experience. All consultants practising at Sancta Maria Hospital hold or have held consultant positions in the NHS and all are registered on the appropriate specialist register with the GMC.

What sort of facilities would be available upon admission?

Patients would have either a single or shared bedroom, with en-suite bathroom or within easy access of shared bathroom facilities. A television is provided in every room, for which there is no charge. Newspapers and visitor meals can be ordered upon request, for which a separate charge is payable.
