About Us
Sancta Maria Hospital is a not-for-profit, private hospital with 33 beds. Our
patients enjoy a peaceful stay and panoramic views over Swansea Bay .
Providing the very highest standards of modern medical care, we offer an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. We are supported by over 100 experienced consultants, who also work locally in the NHS.
Sancta Maria is open to everyone, whether insured or not, since we offer competitively priced, fixed-cost surgery, together with a patient loan scheme. Some NHS patients may also be offered treatment at Sancta Maria Hospital , as part of government initiatives to reduce waiting times.
Founded over 50 years ago by the Sisters of the Ursulines of Jesus, Sancta Maria Hospital is now owned and managed by the Hospital Management Trust (HMT), a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. HMT is committed to maintaining Sancta Maria's strong, caring ethos, and a pastoral care sister from the Ursuline order visits patients regularly.
